Welcome
to Gunrock bed and breakfast accommodation. Situated on
the seafront of Seahouses we have some the most spectacular
sea views on this part of the Northumbrian Heritage Coastline.
Seahouses
local amenities and the harbour are just a short walk from
our front door. Boat trips from the harbour can be taken
to to the famous bird and seal colonies on the Farne Islands
which can also be viewed from your bedroom window!. The
islands are also famous for the Longstone Lighthouse former
home of our local heroine Grace Darling.
Gunrock
is the perfect base to explore the major tourist attractions
of North Northumberland.
Bamburgh Castle, Alnwick Castle and Gardens, the Cheviot
Hills, Holy Island and the Scottish Borders are all within
an easy drive on uncluttered roads. You will find activities
to suit all of the family from golf and fishing to hill
walking or just relaxing on mile after mile of award winning
beaches some which are just few yards from the front of
Gunrock.
Some
of the best diving in the UK can be found in and around
the Farnes. Gunrock is named after an outcrop of rock on
the islands, the scene of an 18th century shipwreck found
strewn with ships' cannons by local divers.
Your
host, Judy Oxley, the former proprieter of the Longstone
House Hotel, is on hand to make your stay at Gunrock a memorable
one. Click through our pages to view our rooms and sea views.
